Garner Quilt / Kona Solids Version

Garner is a FAT QURTER FRIENDLY or scrappy quilt pattern in SIX sizes; (crib, lap, throw, large throw).

Use 5, 6, 13, or 18 fat quarters plus background to make this quilt. The pieces are large so the bulk of the fabric print is visible.

Scraps from the fat quarters can be used for an optional scrappy binding.

There are NO SMALL HSTs to cut and trim!

The scrappy version is made using the “stitch and flip” technique which produces optional “bonus” half square triangles (HSTs).

After making my Ruby Star version I had all these bonus 2-3/4” HSTs as “trimmings”.

So what’s a quilter to do with 144 adorable HSTs? Make a coordinating wall quilt, of course!!

I started with the backing fabric first for this quilt, pulling the colors for the quilt top from the gorgeous backing!

I chose a selection of coordinating Kona solids fat quarters for this piece and paired them with dark dusty blue Kona Solids background.
