I’m so happy to be able to publish this post; it seems like years in the making, but it’s really only been a couple months.
I’ve wanted to design and publish a pattern of my own for years and now I’ve made my dream come true. Thanks to everyone who has helped with encouragement and supportive words along the way!
I spent many years working in engineering and construction; drafting designs that come to life in steel and concrete.
The transition to quilt pattern design was a fairly easy one, except for navigating building a website hahaha.
This project started out as a color study, exploring the work of Joseph Albers. He explored how colors appear different depending on the color they are adjacent to.
For example, the lower white square appears brighter that the upper white square simply because of the color it is next to.
The greens also look darker or lighter depending on where you look. It’s fascinating to me!
I used Kona Solids in Snow, Avocado, Peridot, Bonsai, Peapod, and Green Tea. Fabric requirements are listed in the graphic below.
Thank you so much for reading and for your support!
Take care and happy sewing & creating, my friends. Stay weird xo -R 😉
